Every tire sold in the EU carries a standard label that rates three things: rolling resistance, which affects fuel use; wet grip; and external rolling noise, each as a letter class, with the noise also given in decibels. Winter and all-season tires may additionally carry the 3PMSF snowflake and ice-grip marks.
